This series is an on-line Geriatric Case Studies for RNs or LPNs or CNAs! Each case follows a standardized format with introductory information concerning a patient, such as diagnosis, presenting symptoms, setting and other characters present. Focused questions guide the initial discussion of the situation, as the case unfolds, more information is provided. The additional information may include changing symptoms, additional assessment data, and changes in setting or illness trajectory. This program is designed to provide an overview of acute renal failure, including early signs and symptoms, identifying patients at risk for acute renal failure, and appropriate interventions. By knowing the three types of renal failure and their etiologies you will be able to identify and intervene quickly for a patient experiencing acute renal failure.
